The process to prepare for your initial visit is simple to get started, just give us a call. We’ll guide you through the process.. If you’re seeing the provider via telehealth, we make sure that you get a secure video conferencing link, and if you come into the office, our kind staff members make you feel comfortable immediately as you begin the process of getting your mental health needs diagnosed and treated. We accept many major insurance plans, or can offer a discounted cash pay plan to meet your needs.

If you are already receiving psychiatric treatment in another facility, an initial visit can also be used to provide a second opinion, ensuring that every patient is on their way to an improved life path. With every initial visit appointment, the patient spends up to 60 minutes with the provider, who conducts a thorough diagnostic assessment via interview, records mental health symptoms, and reviews medical history, psycho-social and developmental history, family history, substance use history, and review lab work when indicated. Our Psychiatrist or PMHNP will then make an accurate and educated diagnoses of the mental health condition and customize a personal treatment plan involving a combination of therapies including psychotherapy, behavioral modification, and medication.

Medication Management appointments are brief, lasting less than 30 minutes. During these appointments, the patient’s response to medications will be reviewed and assessed, and side effects noted, with changes to medications being made as necessary and refills completed. The patient will receive some supportive therapy during these appointments, with referrals made for the best overall mental health treatment.

In a psychotherapy counseling appointment, the patient spends up to 60 minutes with the therapist, who will focus on gaining insight into chronic physical and emotional problems and the underlying reasons for developed thought processes. Taking an in-depth focus of the core issues, our therapist, Kristin Gilbertson, works with patients to lead them through coping with past traumas to a life filled with personal growth and hope, developing a provider/client relationship that is built on trust.

Robert Giebink, M.D., Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Giebink has a wealth of experience working with adults in many psychiatric settings and is located in Sioux Falls, SD. He has treated the full range of common psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders such as bipolar and major depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia.

Relationship problems and abuse of alcohol and other substances often play an important role in the mental health difficulties people have. Dr. Giebink has particular interest in helping people with co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse in patients who have mood and/or anxiety disorders.

Jennifer Pipitone, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Dr Jenn provides care to clients across the lifespan in person and through telepsychiatry with emphasize in pediatrics, peripartum, and postpartum
psychiatric care. Her focus is on the promotion and maintenance of health, differential diagnoses, and disease management through the use of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions, and psychotherapeutic treatment modalities, and she provides a patient-centered and trauma-informed approach to care.

Dr Jenn treats all ages and has immediate openings for new pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients in our Sioux Falls office.

Trusted for her warm, compassionate, and straightforward clinical approach, Kristin has extensive experience in working with individuals with serious mental illnesses in correctional care facilities.

With experiences in diagnostics, crisis management, and behavior modification, Kristin is able to consult with Dr Pavlis and our team of providers, referring for medication management when needed to help patients achieve more successful and meaningful lives.

Our team of mental health providers all have immediate access to our lead psychiatrist, Dr. Clay Pavlis. Under his leadership and direction, he ensures that each patient receives the highest level of care with a comprehensive evaluation of psychiatric diagnoses and a customized treatment plan which utilizes the latest technologies and tested research.

Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction with Suboxone

Dr Pavlis is also Buprenorphine Certified and manages the processes and patient care for MWI Health’s Suboxone Clinic. Dr Pavlis and our team of PMHNP’s assist people suffering from opioid addiction, utilizing a full spectrum of care including medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone.

Suboxone Treatment Clinic - New Patients

We are certified for Suboxone treatment, giving hope for people addicted to opioids. Our supportive care team of specially-trained Suboxone treatment providers offer solutions for opioid addiction every Wednesday in our clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Telehealth appointments for established patients considered on a case-by-case basis only. Our providers have given addicts new hope through established treatment plans amidst a national opioid crisis, offering in-person and telehealth care to individuals caught in the cycle of pain killer dependence. Our Buprenorphine-Certified staff are currently welcoming new patients that are dedicated to getting on the path to recovery.

Suboxone Treatment Clinic - Existing Patients

Our supportive care team of specially-trained Buprenorphine-Certified providers guide clients previously caught in the grips of opioid addiction as they focus on complete wellness with the assistance of suboxone.

Appointments are available on Wednesdays in our clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with telehealth appointments provided on a case-by-case basis.
